Vision & Growth Strategy
MCAworks Opinion
MCAworks views vision planning as an essential part of company growth development for the following reasons:
- Changing external environment: changing market drivers, increasing competitive marketplace/consolidation, increasing category segmentation and brand proliferation, growing power of the retailer, and availability of new information technologies.
- Complex internal challenges: value of existing trademarks, scarcity of true competitive advantage, and weak new product pipelines.
What is the value of having a Vision for the organization? For starters, a Vision statement provides a clear articulation of strategic intent as developed with the participation of company leadership. Once shared and understood throughout the organization, the Vision statement becomes the basis for a starting point on every business decision of substance—a touchstone over time. And finally it allows companies to manage change versus being managed by change.
While things are tough out there, MCAworks believes that the winners will be those companies which have a Vision and religiously execute against it.
