Vision & Growth Strategy

Case Study: Leading Biotech Company

Situation
A leading biotech sought to eliminate a short-term corporate growth gap through development of a Neuroscience franchise that leveraged existing assets. Our challenge was to identify the most attractive disease states within Neurology and explore related L&A opportunities.

Solution
We conducted a criteria-based “quick-screen” across all Neurology disease states to identify the most promising set for deeper analysis. We then evaluated remaining disease states to identify “best fit” areas and related L&A opportunities, which we short-listed based on L&A criteria.

As a final deliverable, we built a detailed roadmap for building a Neuroscience business, with both short and long-term revenue potential. Of the 20+ disease states initially screened, we created six in-depth studies and explored 18 short-list L&A opportunities.

Results
We created a roadmap for the L&A team to use in negotiating possible deals. We also provided the L&A team with a deep knowledge base of key growth disease states and core drug classes, including therapeutic objectives, critical unmet needs, key current and emerging products, and market outlook.
